Terms of use
Updated 18 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of Palvelunyt.fi. By creating an account or using the service you accept them.
1. What the service is
Palvelunyt.fi is a Finnish marketplace where customers post service requests and approved providers answer with quotes. The service is currently free for customers and providers. If we introduce fees we will announce them in advance, and earlier use will not become paid without your consent.
2. The contract is between the customer and the provider
Palvelunyt.fi connects the two sides but is not a party to the agreement between customer and provider. The content, price, schedule, quality and payment of the work are agreed between them. We are not responsible for the quality of the work or for either side meeting their obligations, but we help sort out problems that are reported to us.
3. Your account
- You must be an adult to create an account, and the details you give must be correct.
- Confirm your email address using the link in the message. Keep your password secret and tell us if you think your account has been compromised.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile page.
4. Providers
- Anyone applying as a provider states their business name and business ID (Y-tunnus). An administrator approves the application before the provider can see requests and send quotes.
- Providers are responsible for holding the permits, insurance and qualifications the work requires (for example for electrical work) and for following tax and consumer protection law.
- We may suspend or remove a provider who breaks these terms or acts in a misleading way.
5. Requests, quotes and messages
- Describe your request truthfully. A quote's price is set by the provider and includes VAT unless stated otherwise.
- Accepting a quote opens a conversation between the customer and the provider. Accepting is not a payment, but it is an understanding between them about the work.
- The customer marks the job as done and can leave a review. A review must be based on your own experience.
6. Prohibited use
- Illegal, misleading, abusive, threatening, harassing or discriminatory content.
- Trading in or arranging illegal or permit-only goods, substances and services, for example drugs and other prohibited substances, weapons and explosives, stolen or counterfeit goods, forged documents, and services that the provider does not have the required permit or qualification for.
- Using the service for the grey economy, tax evasion or other illegal activity, for example offering or ordering work in a way that skips invoicing, taxes or other legal obligations.
- Offering or arranging sexual services, human trafficking or other exploitation.
- A false identity or business ID, pretending to be another person or company, invented requests or quotes, and invented, bought or swapped reviews.
- Using requests to collect contact details or to market something without a genuine intention to order work, and spam or unwanted marketing in messages.
- Using or sharing other people's data without permission, or harassing or pressuring other users.
- Circumventing or breaking security, malware, automated bulk use, scraping data or disrupting the service.
- Attachments may be JPEG, PNG and WebP images and PDF files, up to 10 MB each.
7. Moderation and consequences
- You are responsible for the content you add and for what you do in the service. We do not review all content in advance, but we may remove or hide content that breaks these terms.
- If the terms are broken we may warn you, remove a request, quote, message or review, block a feature, or suspend or close an account. In serious cases we do so without warning.
- We may hand over data and report a crime to the authorities when the law requires it or we suspect illegal activity.
- Report content or a user that breaks these terms to tietosuoja@palvelunyt.fi. Tell us what it is about and how to find it, and we will look into it.
8. Content and rights
You own the content you add. You give the service the right to store and show it in order to provide the service, for example to show your request to suitable providers. The look of the service, its software and its trademarks belong to us.
9. Liability
The service is provided as it is, and we do not promise that it will run without interruption or errors. We are not liable for indirect damages. These limits do not apply to intentional or grossly negligent acts or to a consumer's mandatory rights.
10. Changes and ending
We may update these terms and will announce material changes in advance in the service or by email. You can stop using the service by deleting your account. We may close an account if the terms are broken.
11. Governing law and contact
Finnish law applies to these terms. Consumers keep their mandatory rights and can take a dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board. Contact: tietosuoja@palvelunyt.fi. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.
